Our mission is to help raise awareness and funds for nonprofit organizations that have as one of their goals to eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness. We will do this by creating events that feature live music and provide a forum to share information about mental illness in a lively, relaxed atmosphere.

We ask that whether you suffer from a mental illness, have someone close to you who suffers from a mental illness or you just want to come out and have some fun, that you attend one of our events. It's always for a great cause!


Bob Regis

    Personal Life

  • Had a normal, all-American childhood.
  • Graduated as valedictorian of Burrell High School's class of 1975, lettered in basketball
  • and tennis, and played trumpet in the high school band.
  • In 1979, graduated with high honors from Carnegie-Mellon University, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Received a full scholarship from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and graduated with high honors as an F.C Austin Scholar in 1982.
  • Worked for IBM, Procter and Gamble, Merrill Lynch, and Federated Investors.
  • Has owned and operated The Regis Group Inc. as a CPA for 18 years, offering tax preparation, accounting, and investment services.
  • Has a daughter who is a very successful attorney in Boston.
  • Is an enthusiastic fan of Pittsburgh’s live music scene.

  • Had a grandmother, uncle, and cousin who were bipolar.
  • Was diagnosed with depression and anxiety in the summer of 1983.
  • Had major manic episodes in 1984, 1986, and 1989.
  • Slept one hour per night for four months during his first full-blown manic episode.
  • Raised $250,000 in one month for a new business venture, only to spend the whole amount – plus $60,000 more – in the next four months during a severe manic phase.
  • Has spent time in the psych ward of several hospitals.
  • Has been through two divorces.
  • Has suffered corporate and personal bankruptcies.

  • Is a member of the marketing and development committee of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of SW PA.
  • Is the subject of “The Twisted Mind - The Bob Regis Story” documentary produced by Lynne Hayes- Freeland, award-winning TV news reporter.
  • Was captain of Glenn Close's Bring Change 2 Mind team, 2012 National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk.
  • Is co-founder of The 10:08 Club, LLC with Shari Richards.
  • Produced successful benefit concerts in November 2012, August 2014, November 2014, and February 2015, along with 10.08 Club co-founder Shari Richards.
  • By special invitation attended the Annual Staunton Farms Foundation Dinner at the Duquesne Club with The 10.08 Club co-founder Shari Richards.
  • Has a wonderful care team including therapist Debra Frankel, and psychiatrist Dr. Timothy Mitzel.
  • Is currently stable on a daily regimen of mood stabilizing medications.
  • Appreciates the mental health awareness exhibited by Dr. Kaye Redfield Jamison, Patty Duke, Glenn Close, Michelle McMurray, Ian Cummins, Natasha Tracy, and Darcey Garda.


Shari Richards

Award-winning vocalist/guitarist Shari Richards has been an mainstay of the Pittsburgh music scene for 30 years. One of the area's most diverse performers, she has been featured on blues festivals in the US and Europe. She can be found on jazz, blues, rock, singer-songwriter and R&B stages regularly. Additionally, she has branched out to musical theater, commercial voice-over acting, on-air radio personality (WYEP-FM), student workshops at high school and college level and has collaborated with modern dance companies.

Community service has always been important to Ms Richards. She has donated her services as performer and organizer to many causes over her musical career and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Sonny Pugar Foundation.

Through the 10:08 Club, LLC she looks forward to using music's unique ability to bring people together while making a difference in our community.
